Kim Kamarebe

Managing Director

Kim Kamarebe is the founding partner of Inua and is responsible for all firm activities. Also, Kim is the Chief Investment Officer of Inua-managed funds, and has oversight responsibility for the investment process, from investment sourcing and deal execution, through adding value to and managing portfolio companies, to exit.

Since the Inua’s founding, Kim has served on numerous Inua portfolio company boards. In addition, Kim serves as an independent board director on the boards of Stanbic Bank Uganda and aBi Finance, and as the independent chairperson of the FSDU Deal Flow Facility technical advisory board.

Kim has worked in the African private equity industry for over 15 years, during which she has led the investment activities at Damascus Capital, AgDevCo Uganda, TLG Capital (East Africa) and Inua Capital. Prior to private equity investing, Kim started her career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York and in London.

Kim is a champion for entrepreneurial activity and sustainable economic growth in Uganda. Kim founded and patrons the Driven2Change Foundation, an active philanthropic organization focused on education and entrepreneurship.

Kim has lived and worked in the US, Europe and Africa, and has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BSc in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University.

Michelle S. Mboha

Investment Manager

Michelle Mboha invests and manages Inua Capital’s seed funding portfolio.

Prior to joining Inua, Michelle spent 8 years advising and supporting early-stage and growth-stage SMEs across East, West and Southern Africa. Michelle led the Uganda country operations of GrowthAfrica, a growth-stage business accelerator with presence in 7 African countries, where she supported 55 SMEs as a growth catalyst, helping these SMEs identify growth gaps and design strategic solutions to them.

As a direct consequence of her support, Michelle’s portfolio of SMEs registered an average of 50% year-on-year revenue growth and raised over US$500,000 in funding within 2 years.

Prior to joining GrowthAfrica, Michelle was an Investibility Associate at Unreasonable East Africa (now Shona), where she built financial models and supported the fundraising process for startups looking to scale their growth. In her time at Unreasonable East Africa, an overwhelming 80% of the startups that went through the incubation and acceleration programmes were successful in raising funding.

Michelle is also a passionate feminist who seeks to empower women through financial freedom.

Eric Obura

Investment Associate

Eric Obura is an investment professional with a wealth of experience in business strategy, capital budgeting, investment readiness and organizational design.

Prior to joining Inua, Eric worked in the Transaction Advisory Services practice at Grant Thornton, leading efforts in growing the transaction advisory division and rolling out its the ESG Consulting business.

Prior to Grant Thornton Consulting, Eric worked as a management consultant at Open Capital Advisors, where he directly supported enterprises and organizations in various sectors including financial services, agribusiness and edtech to mention a few.

Caroline Wamanga

Investment Analyst

Caroline has 7 years of experience in finance, specifically in banking and private equity impact investing.

Prior to joining Inua Capital, Caroline was an investment analyst at FCA Investments, an impact investor specialising in equity investments in SMEs in developing countries and fragile states. Prior to FCAI, Caroline spent 6 years as a commercial banker at Orient Bank Uganda.

Dorcas N. Nabirye

Investment Analyst

Dorcas has 4 years of experience in valuation. She is a financial modelling and valuation expert – she is a certified Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) with the Corporate Finance Institute.

Prior to joining Inua Capital, Dorcas spent 4 years in the valuation space with a focus on property and company valuation.

Edith Namusoke

Finance Manager

Edith is a certified accountant and tax advisor.

Prior to joining Inua Capital, Edith was the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at Afriland First Bank, where she had worked for 3 years. Prior to Afriland, Edith spent 4 years in the audit practice of leading audit and assurance firms in Uganda as an auditor of small and medium-sized enterprises across all sectors.

Masiko Niwagaba

Investment Analyst

Masiko Niwagaba is an Investment Analyst at Inua Capital.

Prior to joining Inua, Masiko previously interned at Vivo Energy in the Commercial Department, and at Bank of Uganda as an intern in the Statistics department.

Masiko has a BSc degree in Economics and Statistics and is currently pursuing the CFA qualification.
